God is Awesome!

I am so excited.  I can’t tell you how awesome this is for me.  Today will mark one month since I decided to use my blog as my devotions.  Okay – so that doesn’t seem like a big deal to anyone – you all have heard me chat on and on about my convictions and my views on things and hearing weird stories about my life.  That is all well and good- but not the reason that I started this blog.

The reason that I started it was because I have always struggled to do daily devotions, I was writing it because a friend and I were talking and discussing and she said that I should write things down.  She is an amazing friend and started encourageing me to write and really get into the word. When i started, it was just to put some thoughts down in writing- she was the only one that I gave the link to.  I then decided, felt really led to use it as my devotional site.  A safe place for me to go and actually write my devotions down.  To get into the word and apply it to my life.

You know those commercials about “the internet is what you make it”?  Well it really is.  It can easily be used for evil – but at the same time, it can be used for good.  Now I know that God is working through MY life through my blog- I see Him working while I re-organize my priority list and re-evaluate my relationship with Him.  I see him moving in my kid’s lives as my oldest daughter is asking all sorts of questions about Jesus and God at just 3!  I really have been blessed by writing this and by being able to express my thoughts on certain matters in this “safe” arena.

I love the verses in Colossians 3.  Verses 16 and 17 – “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Since I started devoing EVERY day and making it a priority – I have seen the word of Christ come up in my teaching my children.  My kids ask for songs about Jesus in the car now instead of the other child’s songs.  God is so good people.  Let me tell you.  If you let Him work through you – He will do amazing things!  So for the 12-13 people that will read this today (since that is my average per post) – get into the Bible – find a time for “God time” where you can be intimate with Him and read your Bible.  Figure out a way to let God bless your life.  Follow His guidance and callings and He will make your path straight.

Also – for the people that do read this blog- thanks – thanks for keeping me accountable and thanks for your comments and thanks for your support.  God has really made me thankful this morning- for my family, my sweet and amazing and encouraging friends, this blog and for HIM!!  God – you ROCK!!

  1. <3 once again moved by your words! ( No I'm not a stalker, though it may appear since I'm the only one commenting daily) I just wake up craving the word and what she has to say about it. I truly love wakin up and reading my devotions first thing. God is my center, my focus of the day and I can ponder these all day long. So even if only 12 people are reading all it takes in one to be moved. Keppt up the work becasue it is not only helping you, but hwlping me stay accountable too!

Center of God's Will

I was very blessed to go over to some new friend’s home last night and talk with them and others about life in general.   As the topic turned solely to missions late in the evening (as this couple used to travel around bringing the good news to kids around the world, and then lived in a different country for 3 years sharing the gospel) I said something like, it must feel amazing to be right in the center of God’s Will.   To have to rely on Him for protection from the most random events; to have to rely on God to take you out of situations that are dangerous; to rely on Him for every provision that you are given; and most importantly, to be brining the message of Christ to all nations under heaven.   Can you imagine?   Knowing that you are supposed to be right where you are, doing what you are doing, right when you are doing it because you have to, and have chosen to, rely on God for every little aspect of your life.   Well friends, I am not out spreading the me...

Daily Bread

I have a dog.  He is cute , but he is still a dog.  That means that he is reliant on me.  He likes me no matter what, If I am not around him, he flips out a little and has anxiety.  If others try to claim him or take care of him when I'm not around, he growls and barks at them.  My dog's name is Spike .  He is a Yorkie.  I promised my husband if he got me a girlie dog, I would name it something masculine so he wouldn't have to go outside and yell fru fru when calling our dog.  Spike knows that I take care of him.  He knows that my husband and I are the two that take care of him the most.  The kids try to play with him and he runs to us with the toys.  The kids try to take him out and he only comes back when one of us calls him.  He knows our voice and respects our voice.  He also is needy.  Like he relies on us to take him outside to do his business and to feed him and give him water.  Spike will let us know ...

The longest route...

There is no easy way around it, sometimes I take the hardest possible route to get anywhere.   During our re-make of our house, I purchase bar stools.   Our counter island is tall and so I measured t – it was 36 inches from the ground.   Therefore I purchased 29 inch bar stools thinking they would be perfect…   And they would have been had I measured from the ground to the trim that lines the bottom of the 36”.   In reality, I had 29” to play with and the stools that I purchased were tight against the lip under the island.   I put one together and realized my folly.   Looking on-line, I didn’t find any more that were comparable to the price I had paid and the style that I wanted but were only 24” tall.   When my husband came home, we decided to put the other three stools together and just deal with them.   On Sunday morning, before church, my husband took the bar stools outside and proceeded to cut 5” off each leg to make us 24” bar stool...
