Right Place, Right Time

Before I went to a second cart...
my carts leaving the aisles.- notice the bottom of one is full too!
“That can’t be right…,”  I thought to myself as I looked at the prices of the toys in the sale isle.  “No way….”  I said out loud to no one in particular…  I picked up one of the toys and double checked the SKU number against the price shown.  Could I have JUST accidentally stumbled onto one of the greatest sales I have seen? This couldn’t have been advertised!  I went through grabbing toys.  Putting them into my cart, filling up one, and then a second cart both spilling over.  Sitting in the middle of the surprisingly low attended sale aisle I thought through who I was going to need presents for, I strategically scribbled a list onto the back of my prescription bag and marked them off as I sprawled toys across the aisles.  The manager and workers were smiling at me as I dragged my 2 overloaded carts away from the isle.  They informed me that they weren’t going to keep the sale going all day even, the 75% off was going back up to 50% off before the days end.  I also heard the one employee state that he worked over 4 hours pricing last night and really didn’t want to have to re-price everything all over again.

Leaving the store, I immediately began calling and texting friends to let them know about this amazing sale.  I went to get my daughter from school and proudly showed off my trunk full of 30 different LARGE toys for under $100.  My friends began rushing to the store and began filling up carts.  As they were leaving, the signs were pulled, the sale was over, they had emptied enough of their shelves for new merchandise to come in, so they were putting the prices back to the 50% savings instead of 75%.

I had an amazing feeling surround me; I was leaving with an amazing deal, 30 amazing deals.  I was leaving with gifts for family, friends, my kids, my husband… Who needs Black Friday when I have a random Wednesday?  There is something about the way you feel when you score a really great deal.  There is a feeling of elation, a feeling of excitement, a feeling like you just HAVE to tell everyone about it.  My endorphins were so high.  I am still on cloud 17, I surpassed 9 a while ago!  I got a call from my mom later and re-lived the whole experience.  WOW!  What a rush!

Now, had I not been in the right place at the right time, I would never have known about this amazing sale.  Life is a lot of times like that.  Bringing myself back to reality and back home I wondered how God wanted to use that rush in my life.  Have you ever brought someone to Christ?  Have you ever felt the satisfaction of praying a prayer of salvation with someone?  The rush that you get is amazing.  It is very similar to a sale.

Sometimes, we talk to our friends and family about Christ for years.  We discuss with them the joys of being a Christian etc, but they don’t listen to us.  Then one day, when we aren’t checking in with them, something amazing happens, they ask Christ to come into their hearts.  We are so excited for them, but we wish we could have been there to see it happen.  Sometimes, we aren’t there at just the right place and time to help someone accept Christ.  Sometimes, we forget, but if we are putting ourselves in the situation to be the right place at the right time and constantly seeking salvation for our friends and loved ones, then we are less likely to miss it.

Galatians 6:9 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

Center of God's Will

I was very blessed to go over to some new friend’s home last night and talk with them and others about life in general.   As the topic turned solely to missions late in the evening (as this couple used to travel around bringing the good news to kids around the world, and then lived in a different country for 3 years sharing the gospel) I said something like, it must feel amazing to be right in the center of God’s Will.   To have to rely on Him for protection from the most random events; to have to rely on God to take you out of situations that are dangerous; to rely on Him for every provision that you are given; and most importantly, to be brining the message of Christ to all nations under heaven.   Can you imagine?   Knowing that you are supposed to be right where you are, doing what you are doing, right when you are doing it because you have to, and have chosen to, rely on God for every little aspect of your life.   Well friends, I am not out spreading the me...

Daily Bread

I have a dog.  He is cute , but he is still a dog.  That means that he is reliant on me.  He likes me no matter what, If I am not around him, he flips out a little and has anxiety.  If others try to claim him or take care of him when I'm not around, he growls and barks at them.  My dog's name is Spike .  He is a Yorkie.  I promised my husband if he got me a girlie dog, I would name it something masculine so he wouldn't have to go outside and yell fru fru when calling our dog.  Spike knows that I take care of him.  He knows that my husband and I are the two that take care of him the most.  The kids try to play with him and he runs to us with the toys.  The kids try to take him out and he only comes back when one of us calls him.  He knows our voice and respects our voice.  He also is needy.  Like he relies on us to take him outside to do his business and to feed him and give him water.  Spike will let us know ...

Don't throw fits!

Yesterday I blogged about how we need to be like little children.   Jesus loves the little children.   He tells us that if we are not like them, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.   I HAVE little children and they are amazing, but I have to assume that little children back in the day didn’t throw public fits or kick and scream and want their way.   Proof is actually in the Bible – they didn’t have the media helping their kids learn to curse their parents all the time.   The punishment for going against your father and mother were harsh!   See Leviticus 20:9 “If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death.   He has cursed his father or his mother, and his blood will be on his own head.” God wants us to be like the little children that he writes about in the Bible, not necessarily the kids that we see all the time around us now.   Some are very well behaved, but some just aren’t.   I can only assume that He wants us to foll...
